How to Make Him Want You
Steps
Dressing for Attention
- Find your color palette. You know that redhead girl that walks down the street wearing an orange dress? Yeah, don't be that girl. Be the opposite of that girl. Rock the outfit you are wearing. Find the colors that work with your body and wear those colors.[1]
- Most guys like seeing girls in bright or feminine colors though there are exceptions (i.e. the little black dress!), but you should also know your target. Maybe he's into the whole goth thing.
- Girls with red hair will usually look good in green or blue, girls with blonde hair look good in blue or purple, girls with brown hair look good in purple or red, and girls with black hair look good in red, yellow, or white.
- Skin color also plays a role. Don't wear anything to close to your skin tone. If you have darker skin wear bright, saturated colors in light tones (a white dress on black skin looks amazing, for example). If you have lighter skin, wear colors that are a bit more dull or at least darker.
- Find the best clothes for your shape. Every girl has a rockin bod....you just have to find out the best way to display it! Wear clothes that accentuate your best features and cling or hang loose in all the right places. This is tricky, and might take some experimenting, but generally there are basic clothing shapes that go best with particular body types.
- For example, short girls shouldn't wear skirts that hit below the knees. The higher the skirt, the taller you'll look. Don't go too high though. Remember: the creepy dude on the bus might be able to see your knickers.
- Girls with more to love should avoid clothes which add bulk up top and instead opt for full skirts and close fitting shirts.
- No boobs? No problem! Wear clothes that show off the rest of your feminine form. Anything that accentuates your hips and your legs are a great place to start.
- Wear something sexy. You want to wear clothes that show him what you've got, while still leaving something to the imagination. Wear clothes that look worthy of a date, not something that you'd wear on a sick-day at home. Wear clothes that would make your grandmother raise her eyebrow but still let you out of the house.
- Skinny jeans are a safe bet right now, especially if you've got great legs (although skinny jeans make pretty much everyone look like they've got great legs). You can pair that with a satiny sleeveless top, for example, for a look that tells him you're everything he wants.
- Try to lay off the turtlenecks, , sweatpants, and clothes that don't fit, leave the maxi dresses for the beach, avoid dated clothing, etc.
- Don't neglect your hair. Now, hair is tricky. You want something that complements your face shape, but this can be hard to do. It may take some experimenting. Just make sure that your hair looks like you put in a little effort and not like you plan on spending the whole day at the library or lazing in bed.
- Keep makeup simple. You don't want to look like Krusty the Clown. Your guy wants you to be naturally beautiful, so don't make it look like you have to put on half a MAC store every day. Use a little eyeliner, mascara only if you really need it, and just enough eye shadow to give your eyes some shape if they're lacking it. Put something on your lips but keep it subtle.
- You should again use colors that complement the natural colors of your body.
- Wear heels. Unless you're almost as tall as him...then you shouldn't wear heels. The goal here is to make your legs look great. Heels make your legs look long and thin (plus they make your butt look nice!). Just make sure that the shoes you're wearing match your outfit.
- Smell amazing. Guys love it when you smell incredible. Make sure your teeth are brushed, you've got on some neutral deodorant, and then put on some nice perfume. It should be fruity or floral, since this has a more flirty scent. Save the musky smells for proper dates. You'll find him leaning in to smell you before you know it!
Being Irresistible
- Act confident. Confidence, tempered with a few moments of vulnerable self-consciousness, is the sexiest thing for guys. Don't be confident like you can't do anything wrong and everything you say is pure gold, that's just annoying. Instead, be Taylor Swift confident: totally unashamed of exactly who you are. Be a little dorky, openly enjoy the things you enjoy, and let your wonderful personality shine through.
- If you act this way around other people, when you let him see a few of your vulnerabilities when the two of you are alone, he won't be able to resist.
- Be exciting. Be someone that other people want to be around because then he'll want to be around you too. You want him to think that his life will be more exciting because you're in it. Learn to play an instrument (and maybe start up a band), learn to kick his butt at COD, set up geocaching parties...whatever seems like it would catch his attention. The key here is to show him that it's more fun to be around you than around other girls.
- Be kind. He doesn't want to hear you smack talking other girls or talking about how ugly some guy is. It makes him wonder what you say behind his back. However, if he sees you helping other people, giving honest compliments, and otherwise being a good person, he'll know you're someone he wants to be around.
- Do things he likes. You want him to feel like he can be around you and still do the things that he enjoys. Bonus if he feels like the two of you doing this thing together would be super fun! Find things that you can share in common or try to find enjoyment in his favorite thing to do.
- If the thing he enjoys is generally considered weird, unusual, or girls don't normally care about it, you will get some serious bonus points. Fixing cars? There aren't many girls that are going to want to do that with him.
- Be positive. "OMG, I could not get my hair to look good this morning. First I tried the hair straighter but that broke and then I-" No. Stop. Don't whine. Don't make your life about everything that goes wrong. He doesn't want all that negativity in his life. No one does. Save complaints for actual problems, especially ones he can help with, and instead try to be a positive person. Find the happy coincidences in life, the upsides of tough situations, and the funny moments when you feel like you're about to cry. He'll want to be around that kind of energy because it helps him do the same.
- Talk about him, not about you. Don't talk a mile a minute about every little detail of your day. He does not need to know about the funny thing that happened with the Q-Tip this morning. Instead, ask him about himself and talk about the things that he's doing. If he's a decent guy, he'll eventually do the same with you, at which point you can talk about your stuff.
- This is not to say that women should wait for men to talk before feeling like they can talk. You should let him go first because it's basic politeness. Everyone should do that. If he asks about you first, you go right ahead. Just don't dominate the conversation. That's selfish.
- Give him his space. Don't be clingy. He wants to feel like he's free to be himself, pursue the things he wants to do, and have some good alone time. Guys are especially prone to needing alone time and you need to respect him by respecting that need. He's his own person, not your personal fashion accessory/back massager/assistant.
- Keep your conversations interesting. Don't let conversations ever get stagnant. If the conversation seems to be dying down, bow out or change the topic. You want to keep out the awkward small talk as much as possible. If he feels like conversations with you can't be sustained, he's nt going to want to spend time around you. Why would he want to be bored or feel awkward, you know?
- You can always default to asking about things he likes. Does he think the Seahawks will go to the Superbowl this year? Does he plan on getting tickets to that Russel Brand show next month? Will he get a PS4 or an XBox One? You get the idea. Give him the chance to talk for awhile.
- There's nothing wrong with letting a conversation end. It'll leave a little mystery around you. Just make it seem like you have other things to do and that not all of your time can be devoted to him. He'll be left wanting more.
Flirting Like a Pro
- Touch him. Nudge him a bit with your elbow during a conversation. Touch his forearm a bit when you're saying something heartfelt or important. Find little ways to touch him. This will show him that you are totally interested in him and leave him longing for a little more physical contact.
- Compliment him. You can certainly just throw compliments out like, "You are looking so fit! Have you been working out?". However, you can also fit little compliments into the conversation. These can feel more organic and natural. Just make sure that, whatever you say, you actually mean it because people can almost always tell the difference.
- An example of a good organic compliment would be, "Yeah, I really could not get that polisci assignment last night. I never was good at all that stuff. You seem like you always get it without even trying....I wish I picked up stuff like that."
- Focusing on his masculine traits never hurts. If you don't know him well enough to know what to compliment, you can always fall back on this.
- Make him feel like a hero. Let him open jars for you. Let him help you with your homework. We all want to feel like we're useful to other people, and if he feels like he's your hero, he'll want to be there for you all the time.
- Tease him. Don't be super insulting or rude. Just tease him a bit, playfully. Riding his terrible dress sense is not going to get you any points. He wants a girl who's playful but who doesn't think less of him. Find a good chance to get playful and he'll know you want him.
- Pass him a note. This can be a physical note but it can also be a flirty text. Don't make it outright flirty, though, if you haven't established that kind of relationship. You also don't want to make it seem too much like you're fishing for attention. Just show that you're thinking of him.
- An example would be a quick text saying , "Just wanted to say hi! ;)"
- Keep those facial expressions in check. Too much winking, hair flipping, and eye batting just looks weird. You can do those things to be flirty, but they should be used sparingly. You want to seem only casually interested and definitely not creepy.
Tips
- There is a difference between playing hard to get and seduction. Don't put yourself out there to get a response from him. Just wear your confidence on your sleeve.
- Don't talk to so many guys in hopes of making him jealous. It'll make you look like a player. That's a no-no.
Warnings
- If you do all of the steps together you'll be over doing it. Just incorporate them into your daily routine as they apply.
